I’ve been reading the stories of dear friends, neighbors, and strangers who I’ll never meet from all around the world. Varied verses followed by the same hooks: these are trying…unprecedented…uncertain times.

I understand the fear and recognize the feverish beat of the unknowns that we are experiencing.

But every chance I get, I step out into the fresh air. If I listen closely…I hear the song of spring.

This song fills me with gratitude for the slow, quiet pace my family and I are sharing during this time. I recognize that my four kids are growing up way too fast, and I see this as an opportunity for my family to embrace the song of spring together, United in our hope for a world who faces this pandemic armed with scientific facts, guided by our humanity and with the faith that this experience will provide a deeper understanding of our strengths as a global community.
