From day one, I will offer fresh energy and enthusiasm as I embrace working as part of a team to better our schools and community. With advanced degrees in social work and public health and professional experience as a counselor, health educator, and mental health advocate, my skills and expertise will complement those of the current BOE members who have backgrounds in a range of other areas. Furthermore, my extensive experience working in our schools and community over the past 11 years has resulted in a deep knowledge of how they function and the issues they are actively facing. As a Board member, I also consider it advantageous that I am the parent of three children who are currently enrolled in our schools and that I have first-hand knowledge of the experience of being a parent of a child at every level (pre-school, elementary, middle, and high school) of our school district.

Likewise, I have a deep knowledge of BOE policy, governance, and its mandate. Over the last year, I have watched meetings and eagerly read the reports and documents that have been posted on the District’s website. All of this has given me a strong understanding of exactly what the Board is currently working on, and what the next year or two have in store. I am also very familiar with how the meetings function and the particular responsibilities of individual members. In sum, as I proved in my 2020 campaign, I am ready to make a positive, well-informed contribution to the Board through my unique combination of skills and experiences that will complement those of my fellow Board members.
