First, serving on the BOE will allow me to learn so much more about the extraordinary and diverse array of families that make up our remarkable community, hailing from all over the region and world. I will welcome this opportunity to learn more about the diverse backgrounds and cultures represented in our district, particularly as they pertain to education and community. Second, while I have studied the BOE and its mandate closely for many years now, I look forward to learning more about local government and engaged citizenship. This includes learning the minutia of policy and law, articulating in an accessible manner complex ideas to the public, and acting as an advocate for every member of our community.
